Brick is 99% Done

Well the brick laying crew go with it and over a period of three days have virtually completed the brick on the house with the exception of the area over the dining area window. The rock was delivered today for the two columns you see in front so that should be maybe tomorrow. The power from the pole out on the street to the house was trenched and laid in today, one more thing to check off the list. Next week should begin the taping and bedding work on the inside, the installion of the garage door was suppose to happen today according to the schedule but it won't take a day to install them. Enjoy the pictures things are moving along, but I will be so happy when I can get off this Merry Go Around!!!!!!!!!

Master Bath Window

I took a picture of Katie's master bath window that will be over her whirlpool tub, to me it adds a lot to the house.

Sheet Rock

The sheet rockers began today, I stopped by on my way home from work. I is a crew of three non-english speaking workers. Anyway they got all the ceilings and part way down the walls today. I don't think it will take them much longer to finish out the house. Its beginning to really look like a house. Next up will be the installation of the doors, the tappers and mud will go on the walls. Oh and before I forget the water well have been drilled, the pump has yet to be installed maybe that is for theft reason they wait. Jamie told me today my last inspection will hopefully happen this week (Friday). After that one the brick can begin, keep your fingers cross for Monday. Oh BTW its really beautiful weather in Oklahoma right now, low seventies, no wind (rare in OK) and no humidty.

Insulation

The insulators put this fine mesh looking stuff over all the walls, windows, electrical boxes, etc on the first day, then go back the next and blow in all the insulation (the white stuff). Jamie called me and ask me if I wanted to insulate my garage. I ask him if I could do it myself he said yes you can. I purchased an R13 roll insulation from Lowes. They were running a sale of 20% off plus my military discount of an additional 10%. I insulated the garage for $65.00 I think that is pretty good. I also added a gas drop in the garage for a radiant heater, just to take the chill off.

Electrical, Plumbing, and Windows

Okay not much to show you, but if you are interested the electrician has been running the electricial wiring and all the boxes over the last three days. The low voltage guys showed up today and began installing the whole house music and surround sound. When I was over looking at the house I noticed the last window had arrived. It is the window over the bathtub in the master bath. I haven't taken a picture will do that as soon as its installed. The plumbing you see is actually sideways in the picture, its a whole house or you can shut off individual areas.

Shingles on the Roof

They put the shingles on last week, one window on order. We did the walk through today with the low voltage guy. We know where all the phone lines, cable drops, surround sound and whole house music will go. Its coming along. Tomorrow the walk through with the electricial crew that should be fun or expensive!!!!

Trim Over The Garage

Check out the trim and cornish work they have completed in the last three days. I am really pleased how this turned out. Katie and I talked about brick and other materials, this is cedar not stained yet. It will be stained a dark walnut along with our shutters that will come later.

Roof Decking On Finally

All the decking is now install on the roof, this will give you some idea of how tall the roof actually is. I looked around and now notice alot of homes with tall roofs, fyi for anyone who wants to know the pitch of the roof pitch is 10/12 pretty steep. The shingles are suppose to loaded tomorrow and if the weather holds the roofers will install the shingles Thursday and Friday before the labor day weekend, yippee!

Roof Truses Go Up

The roof truses are going up and have been completed. Not really a lot to look at, but its slowly beginning to take shape and look sort of like a house. Its going to be a really tall roof (I don't plan on getting on it).
